Click here to learn why we do what we do... for Kolfe Orphanage. January of 2010,
we began asking God to break our hearts for what breaks His
. His answer was...
Kolfe
. There's much we can do to shower these precious boys with HIS love!

The Kolfe Orphanage Boys in Ethiopia
"The life at Kolfe is hard. The government forgets Kolfe. The society have negative attitude for us. After we finish our education to get a job it is difficult. There is no nutrition meal, there is a shortage of clothes and shoes." taken from a letter written by Merhawi (The Kendall family's Kolfe Son)

So what's this BLOG all about??
Kolfe Orphanage is one of the most run-down orphanages in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It is situated on a previous dumping ground. The orphanage is government run, which means, times are tough at Kolfe, and the needs are great.
The orphanage is filled with 250 or so boys to men ranging from 5 years to their mid 20s. They want to live with hope for a future, they want the love and acceptance of a family, they NEED
Jesus Christ.
Three times in the past year, I have had the priviledge of traveling to Ethiopia to visit Kolfe Orphanage with these precious boys.
In a sense, I got the immense joy of being the tangible hands and feet of Christ to boys/young men who often feel that God has forgotten them... Actually, that is the nickname they have for themselves...
The Forgotten Boys
.
God has opened our eyes in the past year to a world we never wanted to acknowledge.... the world of orphans.
There are millions upon millions of orphans all over the world who simply want a family to call their own.
So our prayer is this... that you would stop by our blog often, read the stories of the Kolfe Boys, follow along on our journey... and then make a journey of your own.
Pray about what God would have you do to help the orphans
that God has NOT forgotten... and get involved.
Don't expect that someone else will do what God has called you to do. (James 1:27 ~ Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress...)
Sponsor an orphan somewhere in the world, adopt one of these precious young men, give financially to help me get back out to Kolfe, send something for the orphans with me on my next trip... (We are currently collecting toiletries, soccer shirts, punch balls, beach balls, and cans of baby formula, just to name a few... for my next trip in 2012)
...but
please
,
don't get too comfortable in this life... there are so many who need all of our help to see hope, and have a future!
The precious boys at Kolfe.
